Theo Fleury says the pressure of facing his rapist has affected him, but he has not relapsed into addiction.

Fleury posted a blog on his website saying he was starting to go down a dangerous road, one he's been down before.

The former member of the Flames has a history of addiction after being sexually abused by hockey coach Graham James.

On Fleury's blog he says all the media attention brought back flashbacks.

"I thought i was powering through it, that it wasn't affecting me all that much. I was wrong."

Daniell Aubry of Calgary Communities Against Sexual Abuse say it's not uncommon for victims of sexual abuse to struggle for the rest of their lives.

"There's lots of different things that trigger people in this journey and send them to a place that they have to come back from again," says Aubry.

Fleury blogs that he's seeking professional help to deal with the stress and strain of the court case. He plans to focus on his healing over the next few months.

He also says he went public with his latest struggle because he doesn't want to have any more secrets.
