Sheldon Smithens and Scott Cozens from Canadian Pickers are in Calgary for a unique auction sale that is going on this weekend.

The pair has brought a number of unusual items that they have collected from across the country.

They are selling off everything they bought while shooting Season 2 of their show.

"I'm really excited about that moment of truth on each item to find out if yes Scott and I were right on with that item, or boy were we out to lunch on that day and we paid way too much," said Smithens.

The two have years of experience collecting and say when they find something rare and unusual they snap it up.

"I'm primarily on the hunt for myself, and secondarily to buy and sell, so I probably keep 10 to 20 percent of what we buy," said Cozens.

The items will be on sale at Hall's Auction Services at 5240 1A St. S.E. on Sunday.

"We don't often get a chance to sell from Newfoundland, from Labrador, northern Saskatchewan, form coast to coast to coast to border I guess," said Kevin King from Hall's Auction Services.

Cozens says there are a number of key items at this sale, but one that stands out for him is a rare, turn of the century, seven colored lithography carriage poster.

"It's when you get color like that, you get a visual that really grabs you and than when you add to it the history, that's the killer for me. If you can get a combination of a visual eye appeal and historical significance, that's what you're looking for," said Cozens.

The sale is open to everyone and gets underway on Sunday at noon.

Auction items can be viewed from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
