Calgary police are looking for the culprit, or culprits, in a Wednesday morning attack in the community of Bankview that took the life of Gatleak Thor Metkurjock.
At approximately 2:30 a.m., on January 25, a witness called 911 after seeing a man fall to the ground in front of a building in the 2100 block of 16 St. S.W.
20-year-old Gatleak Thor Metkurjock, who had recently immigrated from Sudan, was taken to hospital in serious, potentially life-threatening condition.
On Thursday, Metkurjock succumbed to his injuries.
An autopsy has determined the cause of death was blunt force trauma and the incident has been deemed a homicide.
According to police, the incident was not a random attack and Metkurjock had been attending a party at the residence.
Police are interviewing the occupants of the residence.
