A man who was found dead in a southwest apartment on the weekend has been identified by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Genaro Ccopa-Huaman, 38, of Calgary was found deceased in a residence in the 300 block of 57 Ave S.W. on Sunday, December 18, 2011, at around 3:40 p.m.

Police have confirmed Ccopa-Huaman's death is a homicide but are not releasing the cause of death for investigative reasons.

On Tuesday, Calgary police issued a warrant for the arrest of a man in relation to the death.

The warrant is for the arrest of Lloyd Douglas Bramley, 27, of Calgary, who has been charged with second degree murder.

Police say that Bramley and the deceased shared an apartment with a third man who originally called police to conduct the check on welfare.

The third man was questioned and investigators do not believe he was involved.

Bramley is described as:

  • Caucasian
  • 173 cm or 5'8" tall
  • Medium build
  • Brown receding hair

Police say that they believe Bramley no longer has the goatee that is depicted in the photo.

Police are asking anyone with information relating to the whereabouts of Bramley to call the non-emergency number at 403-266-1234 or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously using any of the following methods:
