City officials have now removed the metal sculpture left by Occupy protesters after their camp was closed by a court injunction last Friday.

The art installation, built by an anonymous artist by the name of D.H., was left in the park by the Occupy protesters to ensure that their encampment would not be forgotten.

Early on Friday morning, Occupy protesters had vanished from the park, and in their place was an eight foot tall metal structure and dozens of signs put up around Olympic Plaza.

Thinking that the protesters had left the area before the 2 p.m. deadline and began to remove the signs and assess the damage to the park.

Later on that morning, a small group of protesters arrived and got into an argument with bylaw officers taking down the signs before the deadline.

There is no information on where the sculpture has been taken or what will be done with it now that it's been taken down.
