Mounties have confirmed that a young mother, killed in a bombing on Friday, was targeted.

23-year old Vicky Shachtay died after a package, containing an explosive, was delivered to her Innisfail townhome Friday morning.

Shachtay had been in a wheelchair for seven year and her caregiver was also in the home at the time of the explosion, but wasn't injured.

Shachtay's 7-year old daughter Destiny was not home at the time.

The autopsy confirms Shachtay was murdered and RCMP say she was the intended victim.

"We are confident this is a targeted murder," says Sgt. Patrick Webb. "We're not able at this time to be able to release any of the details as to exactly why we believe this to be targeted."

"That is what we consider to be "holdback. In other words that's details that we know and the perpetrator knows, and helps in our investigation."

Investigators are not saying what they've learned about the bomb that killed Shachtay or why anyone would want her dead.

A memorial service for Shachtay will be held on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the Innisfail Alliance Church.

A trust fund has been set up at branches of the Royal Bank for Shachtay's daughter.
