One teenage boy is in critical condition in hospital after a mass incident in northeast Calgary.

Paramedics were called at about 2:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon to a home in Harvest Hills and assessed ten teenagers.

According to Stuart Brideaux of Calgary EMS, when emergency crews arrived a 15-year-old male was in critical, life threatening condition.

The teen and seven others were rushed to the Alberta Children's Hospital.

Calgary police say it appears the youths took an illicit substance, possibly ecstasy, although it's not clear exactly what was ingested.

According to police, the home owners, who are the parents of at least one of the teens, were out of town at the time of the incident.
