The Calgary Fire Department has contained a grass fire just north of Stoney Tr. near 14 St. N.W. near the community of Evanston.
According to Brian Mcasey of the Calgary Fire Department, the fire spread over a square kilometre of grass and wild brush due to a strong northern wind.
There is no indication as to what ignited the blaze but it is believed to have started at approximately 3:00 p.m.
