Authors from around the world are in Calgary for Wordfest.
The annual event brings together the publishing world for a celebration of the written word.
For the next six days, there will be poetry and spoken word performances, current event panels, publishing industry workshops, and youth and multilingual programming. The events take place in both the Banff town site and in Calgary.
According to Jo Steffen, the festival director, there are several notable authors scheduled to attend.
"We have authors nominated for both the Booker and Giller award and the Governor General's award," says Steffen. "J.J. Lee was nominated in the non-fiction category and he is presenting at a Wednesday event called ‘Measure of a Man'".
