A young man who claimed he was tortured by Dustin Paxton spoke out about his experience in court on Wednesday.

During 21 year old Abraham Chutta testimony, however, the accused smiled from ear to ear.

A tearful Chutta explained to the court how Paxton used a dog leash to whip him like a slave.

Chutta lived with Paxton along with the other victim who cannot be named due to the nature of his assault.

Both men also worked for Paxton's moving company.

Chutta reinforced the past week of testimony, saying that Paxton would often fly into a rage over very small things.

He said that when he first moved in, he had no idea about the violence Paxton was capable of.

"I remember he looked at me and he said, ‘What?' I looked down and pretended like nothing happened," Chutta said.

Crown prosecutors are still running into the same problem they've come across with every eyewitness to the assaults.

No one is able to nail down a specific date of the alleged assaults.

The defence claims that the witnesses could have learned of these assaults from social media and are fabricating their own experiences.

Chutta is expected to be on the stand for the rest of the day on Wednesday.

Dustin Paxton is on trial for the severe assault of his roommate and business partner the Crown claims he burned, beat, and dumped his near lifeless body at a Regina hospital in 2010.
