An Alberta woman is cashing in and checking out as she puts up two decades worth of rock ‘n' roll memorabilia for auction so she can realize her travel dreams.

Staff at Frank McInenly Auctions Ltd. in Vulcan are cataloging signed electric guitars from rock legends like the Rolling Stones, AC/DC, The Who, Oasis, Guns N' Roses, METALLICA and Pink Floyd.

A raft of artwork and signed album covers are also on the block from the likes of Ronny Wood, Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin.

The treasure trove of music memorabilia all came from one collector in Strathmore.

Helen LaChance spent over 20 years amassing a museums worth of rock history, but says now she's retiring to travel and can't take it with her.

"It was very nice to have it. It's very hard to let go of it but we want to go do the motor homing thing and there's just no room for that anymore so hopefully somebody that will enjoy it will buy it," said LaChance.

If you are interested getting your hands on some of this rock memorabilia the auction is on Sunday, October 2 at the Deerfoot Inn and Casino.

The doors will open at 2:00 p.m. so buyers can preview the auction items and the sale starts at 4:00 p.m.
