Police say Randall Hopley acted alone when he allegedly abducted three year old Kienan Hebert from his home in Sparwood B.C.

Hopley was captured on Tuesday.

RCMP found him hiding at a gravel pit near Crowsnest Pass at around 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday.

A K-9 team from Kelowna is credited with capturing Hopley, who tracked him to the area.

The arrest comes seven days after Kienan Hebert disappeared from his home in the middle of the night.

The little boy was mysteriously returned on Sunday and was found sitting on the couch in the family's living room by his dad.

The Hebert's have moved back into their home and say they are looking forward to a good night sleep.

Police are also examining a building at a bible camp where Hopley was caught.

Mounties spent the day collecting evidence at the scene.

Police recovered Hopley's car, a 1987 Toyota Camry, near Coleman, Alberta and have towed it to a police impound lot.

Hopley was brought back to Sparwood and is in police custody.

He was arrested for kidnapping and abduction of a person under 14.
