Three people are recovering in hospital after a head on collision near Langdon.

The crash happened on Highway 797, about 5 km north of Langdon, about 11:00 a.m. on Monday.

Police say a small, black, sports car, travelling on Hwy 797, pulled into the southbound lane to pass another vehicle and was hit head on by a tractor-trailer unit.

Several emergency vehicles responded to the scene.

Emergency officials say all of the injured were travelling in the sports car and are believed to be males in their 20's.

EMS says one of the injured was transported in critical life-threatening condition by STARS.

The other occupants of the car were taken to hospital by ground ambulance in non life-threatening condition.

The people in the tractor-trailer unit were not injured.

The investigation into the cause of the crash continues and charges are pending.
