A large Calgary Transit bus was severely damaged when it caught fire early Saturday morning.

The Calgary Fire Department attended the scene at MacLeod Trail just south of Southland Drive S.E. for reports of a bus fire.

When they arrived, they found the bus fully engulfed in flame.

The fire was quickly extinguished by the crew, but the bus had already suffered extensive damage.

The driver was the only one on the bus at the time and no one was injured.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
