RCMP have identified the body of a woman whose body was found in a rural area.

Police say Jenna Cartwright, 21, of Red Deer was murdered.

She was last seen in Red Deer at the end of March.

Family members reported her missing in mid-April.

Police are now trying to figure out what she was up to before she was killed.

Cartwright's body was found Tuesday at the side of a road about four kilometres northeast of Olds.

Evidence was recovered at the scene.

Police say she was known to them, but won't say how.

Last month, when she was reported missing, RCMP indicated she had a history of substance abuse.

It's believed Cartwright was single. She had a two-year-old daughter and a twin sister.
