All five candidates for Calgary Centre-North showed up for a debate Monday night, including chronic no-show Conservative Michelle Rempel.
The hotly contested riding is the only one without an incumbent since Jim Prentice retired from politics last fall.
Roughly 300 people came to hear from the candidates, filling the Wildrose United Church to the rafters.
Rempel has been widely criticized for skipping the last two debates scheduled in the riding.
A potted plant took her place last Tuesday.
The Conservative candidate gave no explanation of her recent absence for the last two debates, only that she had previous engagements.
Instead, she concentrated her thoughts on the debate. "I was here tonight, it was important to be heard tonight. I was pleased to have attended an earlier forum in the campaign."
