Four men who are planning a white supremacist rally in Calgary later this month are charged with hate related crimes in Edmonton.

On February 12, police say that four men were seen handing out and putting up flyers about a white supremacist rally reportedly taking place here in Calgary this month.

Investigators say the men entered several bars and began targeting visible minority patrons and those they thought were gay.

Police say they verbally and physically attacked two people including a 20 year old woman.

The woman was allegedly punched in the face several times and more racial slurs were allegedly shouted at another establishment on Whyte Ave., later that night. Police say a female inside the business was allegedly assaulted and punched in the face several times. A 23-year-old man came to her aid, and was also allegedly assaulted.

The four men then fled the area on foot but were eventually identified by patrol and officers along Whyte Avenue who were already in the area investigating a previous assault that took place hours before.

The investigation was handed over to the EPS Hate Crimes Unit. A three-week long investigation resulted in the arrest of all four men last week.

Jason Anthony Anderson, 32, is charged with criminal harassment, mischief, cause disturbance, and assault.
