Calgary fire crews found themselves in waist-high water while responding to a flood at a southwest building Tuesday afternoon.

Crews had to evacuate Acadia Place, a complex located at 333 Heritage Drive S.W., after large volumes of water were found in many of the units.

A water-main break is believed to be the cause of the flood.

City buses arrived to shelter the residents.

Calgary Water Works is on scene to repair the burst, while displaced homeowners are being cared for by the city's Emergency Management Agency.
