A Didsbury woman is facing a second-degree murder charge after allegedly shooting her husband to death.

Around 6 p.m. Friday, RCMP say they were called to a rural home west of Didsbury after a 60-year-old woman called them and said she shot her husband.

When officers arrived, they found a 68-year-old man dead in the residence.

His wife, Heather Wilson Duncan, was arrested at the home and has been charged with second-degree murder.

She's set to appear in Didsbury Provincial Court on Monday.

RCMP say they have not had any prior domestic violence investigations associated to the accused or the deceased.

The name of the deceased is not being released at the request of the family.
