A man who was shot several times Wednesday night in the Beltline area told police it was all over two stolen computers.

A neighbour called police just before 8 p.m., saying someone had been shot in an apartment building in the 500 block of 17 Ave. S.W.

The victim, a man in his 30s, was shot in both legs and taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said two men had forced their way into the victim's apartment, beat him, then shot him. It was all because the victim had threatened to go to police to retrieve two computers from the men, police added.

The two suspects were arrested at a car rental agency at the Calgary airport while trying to return the rented minivan they were in.

Charges have been laid against a Calgary man and another man from Fort McMurray. The victim is expected to make a full recovery.

Police say this was a targeted shooting and that the victim and gunmen knew each other.
