An Airdrie home is cordoned off after a man's body was found in it yesterday morning.
Airdrie RCMP tell CTV News they found a man dead inside a home located at 80 Bighill Circle around 8 a.m. Saturday.
At this point, police say next of kin have been notified but they're not revealing any details until after an autopsy is completed.
RCMP Cst. Robert Frizzell says Airdrie RCMP has called in the Major Crimes Unit from both Calgary and Red Deer to assist in the investigation because the death is considered suspicious in nature.
"Due to the nature of the body and the location of the body, at this time we have deemed it suspicious and are awaiting more details from the Medical Examiner," said Cst. Frizzell.
The autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
