An early morning crash claimed the life of a teenage girl and injured two other teens.

At around 5:20 a.m. Sunday, a vehicle rolled on Highway 1, just east of the Highway 22 overpass.

A girl in her late teens, who was a passenger, was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene.

She was not wearing a seatbelt.

Another passenger, a girl in her late teens, was airlifted to Foothills hospital by STARS with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle, a boy in his late teens, was taken to hospital by ground ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.

Cochrane RCMP say alcohol may have been a factor.

The investigation continues.
