Animal Services is investigating another case of dogs running loose in Calgary.

Two "Pit-bull type" dogs were picked up in the community of Renfrew after attacking a cat.

It all started at around 1 p.m. Monday afternoon.

A pair of dogs was spotted attacking a cat at a home on Rundle Crescent N.E.

According to the owner, the cat was on a leash on the property.

There are conflicting reports about the extent of the attack but officials didn't take any chances and were quickly at the scene.

But it took at least two hours before the animals were found and caught.

Animal Services wrapped up its investigation and tell CTV News the dogs have had previous infractions recorded against them.

The animals are now being held in the custody of Bylaw until a vicious dog hearing has been held.

Charges against the owner are being considered.
