HIGH PRAIRIE, Alta. - RCMP in High Prairie, Alta., say they have busted a marijuana grow operation that would have yielded enough pot to roll more than two million joints.

Police say they found the bumper crop of 6,500 pot plants in a dozen greenhouses set up in the bush near the remote community northwest of Edmonton.

RCMP estimate the plants would have yielded enough pot for 2,169,000 joints by the fall harvest season.

Six men have been charged with producing and trafficking marijuana.

The accused include Tri Anh Phan, Guang Ping Chen, Chia Haung Fei, Hung Duy Hoang, Cuong Viet Nguyen and Tuan Anh Tran.

The six are being held in custody and are to appear in High Prairie provincial court on Aug. 16.
