A 36-year-old Fort McMurray man is facing five charges relating to child exploitation.

Ryan Davison was arrested earlier this week after an investigation was launched by the Halifax Regional Police and RCMP's Integrated Child Exploitation Unit in April of this year.

Davison has been charged with one count each of child luring, possession of child pornography, and accessing child pornography, as well as two counts of indecent acts.

Police allege that last June, Davison began an online relationship with a teen girl by portraying himself as an adult, female modeling agent.

The man then began to receive photographs of the victim and was eventually able to convince the victim to provide nude images and nude webcam videos of her. Police say Davison also convinced the victim to view live webcam videos of him engaged in sexual acts. Eventually, the victim's guardians became suspicious and contacted Halifax police.

He's been released on cash bail with conditions not to possess computers, access the Internet, or have contact with anyone under the age of 16.

Davison is scheduled to make his first court appearance on July 12th in Fort McMurray Provincial Court.
