Calgary police have charged one of their own with sexual assault and harassement

Police say the charges against Cst. Jason Oglesby are in connection to incidents that happened while he was off duty.

They are alleged to have happened between March 15 and May 8 in 2008.

Police say the victim is known to the officer who has served with the Calgary Police Service for six years.

Cst. Oglesby has been taken off the street and will do administrative duties while the case works its way through the courts.

Cst. Oglesby was recognized during the Calgary Police Service Chief's Awards Gala this week. He was praised for the work he did with Sgt. Frank Cattoni. Both are considered instrumental in the closing of the Cecil Hotel.

Oglesby is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, May 28th.
