Officials with both the Calgary Police Service and RCMP say they are still investigating mortgage fraud allegations by the Bank of Montreal.

Reports on the weekend suggested police were not pursuing a criminal case against hundreds of people named in a BMO civil lawsuit.

But police say they are still in the early stages of examining over 30 thousand pages of evidence in the case.

Members of the CPS Economic Crime section have met with RCMP and are trying to determine if any criminal acts can be proven.

On April 28, lawyers, investigators, and police swooped down on five Calgary homes as part of the case.

The homes were searched in a rare motion granted by the justice overseeing the civil case.

A former BMO employee is among those named in the lawsuit.

Denise Lemay was the Financial Services Manager for BMO's Shawnessy and Chinook branches.

CTV News tracked Lemay down to her Calgary home but she refused to comment.

None of the allegations have been proven in court.

It's not clear exactly when the case will resume.
