A campaign for a Calgary condo development is upsetting some potential purchasers.

Will Knoll says he couldn't believe what he was seeing when he went into a restaurant washroom and saw one of the ads for the Midtown condo development.

"The first time I read it, I wasn't sure anyone would be that blatantly tasteless or tactless," says Knoll.

One of the advertisements reads: "A $20,000 down payment is as easy as 25-year-old scotch, or a 25-year-old blonde on scotch."

Knoll took a picture of the ad and posted it on the Internet.

Bloggers jumped on the ads and the feedback was almost instant.

"As an approximately 25-year-old blonde, I would fee violated just walking into the development. Yuck," says one blogger.

Another post says "So me – a 26-year-old blonde in the market for a condo – looks at this ad and immediately says I'll take my money elsewhere."

One of the ads is in the washroom of Sumo Lounge Restaurant.

Tim Huang says the advertisement has been up in his bathroom for a couple of months and nobody has complained.

The company behind the ads posted a message on a Facebook site set up by those angry over the campaign.

The statement says "Watermark Advertising apologizes unreservedly for any offence these washroom ads may have caused. These executions were meant to be some tongue-in-cheek fun… They will be removed."
