A break and enter charge has been laid against a Cochrane RCMP constable.

Keith Anderson is facing the charge in connection to an incident that happened on February 14th.

RCMP say they received a call at around 3:50 a.m. on Valentine's Day about a person who was allegedly unlawfully in a home on Glenhill Drive.

The victim says the man was told to get out of the house and that's when he identified himself as a constable and left.

Investigators say Anderson was found a few houses west of the home the complaint came from. He was arrested.

Anderson has been suspended from active duty with pay while the case goes through court.

The 22-year-old will appear in provincial court on March 9th.
