Ads for Virgin Mobile at bus stops across the city are being removed following complaints.

Some parents have found the ads offensive.

Virgin Mobile paid for three different ads to be placed at 50 bus stops across the city.

The ads are part of a national holiday campaign which is also running in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal.

Calgary Transit says it received several complaints that the ads were too sexual and were close to areas where children could easily view them.

It believes two of the ads contravene advertising standards and says they are being removed.

The third ad will continue to run.

A spokesperson with Virgin Mobile says the ads are meant to be fun and creative and were never intended to offend anyone.
