The body of 24 year old Sapper Stephen Marshall returned to Calgary on Sunday. Marshall's hearse was given a full police escort.
Marshall was killed on october 30th by a roadside bomb. He was on foot patrol just outside of Kandahar City. He had been deployed less than a week.
Marshall was honoured Saturday night at the Calgary Flames game. The born and raised Calgarian was an avid fan, and loved to play the sport.
Thousands stood for a moment of silence. At ice level veterans, soldiers and hockey players also paid homage to Marshall and to all canadian forces members past and present.
Steven Marshall's funeral will be held this Tuesday, November 10. The public service will be held at the centre street church at 1 p.M.
Marshall is the 133rd canadian soldier to be killed in afghanistan.
