For the first time since the Lotto Max lottery has launched, the jackpot has topped out at $50 million dollars. And lottery players across the province are eagerly purchasing their tickets with high hopes of becoming multi-millionaires.

Throughout most of Friday afternoon, a steady stream of people have been lining up at lottery kiosks to purchase a Lotto Max ticket.

"It's the dream you know. I guess, if you can actually hit it and find yourself an island some place that would be a good thing to do," said Vince Tworek.

And when Lotto Max tops out, an extra 10 draws for a million dollars each kicks in.

And just the thought of coming in to such a large amount of money has some people already planning ahead.

"This is going to be my last week working... I want it to be," said Heather Challoner.

If no one wins the $50 million dollar jackpot Friday night the draw for the same amount will be carried over into next week's draw.

Lottery officials estimate there could be up to 20 individual draws for one million dollars.

Sales for Friday's Lotto Max ends at 7 p.m.
