One person is dead, and three others ended up in hospital, after a crash on the Trans-Canada Highway.

It happened around 7 p.m. on Thursday near Callaway Park.

Police say the accident happened when a car, with three people inside, turned left in front of an oncoming SUV.

Everyone involved in the accident was taken to hospital. One of the people in the car was pronounced dead a short time later.

Police say alcohol and road conditions are not believed to be factors in the crash.
