The Calgary Regional Partnership says it will press on with plans for the area despite losing three if it's rural members.
Rockyview County, Wheatland County and the MD of Foothills have all withdrawn from the partnership because they disagree with future housing plans and who will get essential services like water, sewage and transport links.
The rural regions have also disagreed with the voting structure for the partnership.
The regional partnership is meeting this Friday to formally agree on the 60-year plan for the area and says the majority of members are still on board so it's business as usual.
"The majority of the work was always to be within the urban environment so most of the plan is still able to go ahead," said the Calgary Regional Partnership Chair, Linda Bruce.
The plan needs to be ratified by the province.
