The manhunt continues for Calgarian Ryan Jenkins and it seems everyone is on high alert.

Friday night there appear to have been two different possible sightings, both involving police.

The two incidents were in different parts of the country.

Friday night there were reports that Jenkins may have been arrested in Toronto at about 10pm. The man was not Jenkins, but CTV News is learning more about why he was taken off that Air Canada flight from Vancouver to Toronto.

Peel Regional Police tell CTV News they received a tip a man "resembling" Jenkins was on that flight. That in itself would not necessarily be enough for the police to send an armed tact team onto an aircraft, however, when checking the passenger manifest they came across a name they believed Jenkins could use as an alias.

Police tell us that officers boarded the plane and took the man into custody. He was co-operative and police say he did insist he was not Ryan Jenkins. Fingerprints proved he indeed was not Jenkins.

Meantime on the west coast, CTV News spoke to a passenger named Richard who was aboard a transit bus in the Vancouver suburb of Surrey. He saw a man get on the bus who resembled Jenkins.

He says the man had wet muddy footwear and removed his socks and shoes to massage his feet. Richard remembered the theory that Jenkins may have ditched his boat and may have been travelling on foot and began to wonder if this was the man.

He says the most suspicious part was the man's intense interest in a Jenkins newspaper article he read on the bus.

Police were called, but the man was not Ryan Jenkins.

Jenkins is wanted for the murder of his ex wife Jasmine Fiore, whose body was found stuffed in a suitcase and dumped in a garbage bin in Buena Park, California, one week ago.
