The human remains found at the base of Sulpher Mountain in Banff have been identified.

The medical examiner says the remains, which were discovered by hikers on July 29th, have been identified as Brendan Craig Davis.

Davis was a 24-year-old Calgary man who was reported missing on June 20th.

He was last seen at his home in the 100 block of Forest Way S.E.

There was concern about his safety because he was developmentally delayed and his disappearance was out of character.

Police say the circumstances surrounding Davis' death are still under investigation.
