A high risk sex offender will remain behind bars for another week awaiting his bail hearing.

Keegan Troy Spearchief was arrested Monday for allegedly peeping into a woman's bedroom window in Forest Lawn.

He was arrested not far from the scene. Prosecutors say they will be seeking Spearchief's detention because there are serious concerns about public safety.

Spearchief has a history of sexual assaults and is considered a high-risk offender by police.

Spearchief was released on bail earlier this week because of a police error at his bail hearing, but he was re-arrested Tuesday for breaching release conditions.

His lawyer says the bail hearing will take place next week. Patrick Flynn says, "we would like to get a bail hearing as quickly as possible for our client, but due to the complexity of the matter as well as the length of time the Crown estimates they need an hour for the hearing."

The hearing will take place August 6th at the Calgary Courts Centre.

Spearchief's lawyer says his client is being threatened by other inmates in the Remand Centre and wants him placed in segregation unit.

In March of last year, Spearchief was released after serving a four year sentence for sexual assault. That's when he was placed in the high risk offender program.
