Murder charges have now been laid against a second man in connection with a triple murder at a southeast Calgary restaurant on New Year's Day.

Michael Joseph Roberto, 25, is now charged with three counts of first-degree murder.

Roberto is currently in the Remand Centre facing unrelated charges.

He is accused of killing Sanjeev Mann, a known gang member, Aaron Bendle, who police say was an associate of Mann, and Keni Su'a, an innocent bystander.

Another man, 25-year-old Real Christian Honorio, was charged with first-degree murder in connection with the slayings earlier this week.

Roberto has been identified by police as being a member of the FOB gang operating in Calgary but he has denied it.

Police say their investigation isn't over and more charges are expected.

Investigators have said they believe three people were involved in the shooting.
