Consumers should be aware of a window washer going door to door in the southwest.

The man knocked on Donna Riback's door and offered to wash her windows and clean her eavestroughs.

Riback says the man told her Lea Williams-Doherty was one of his satisfied clients who'd used his services.

Riback says he took her money and started cleaning the eavestroughs but never finished.

Several days after the window washer disappeared, Riback found out she wasn't the only one who'd been taken.

Her neighbour had been targeted by the man. He borrowed some of their tools after saying he was Riback's handyman.

Consumer Watch specialist, Lea Williams-Doherty says don't be tempted to hire people on the spot. Instead, take the time to check out their stories before you agree to any work.
