Police are on the scene of an apparent murder suicide in downtown Calgary.
Officers were called to an apartment building at 727 1 Ave S.W. around 5:30 a.m. Saturday morning.
When police arrived they discovered a man's body in the rear parking lot of the apartment building.
Further investigation led police to a 6th floor unit where they found a deceased female along with an unharmed 3-year-old child.
Area residents say it appears that the man may have jumped to his death.
The child is now in the care of social services.
The Homicide Unit is investigating and have blocked off several areas inside the building to investigate.
Autopsies on the deceased are scheduled for Monday.
