Calgary lottery players were hoping they'd be 48 million dollars richer after Saturday's Lotto 6/49 draw, but it turns out the winning tickets were purchased in Ontario and Quebec.
It was a record draw for the lottery. Wednesday night's draw of 39 million dollars rolled over into Saturday night's pot, making it the second largest in Canadian history.
The biggest jackpot was a Super 7 prize that ended up in the hands of 17 Alberta oil patch workers.
In Calgary, tickets sales ended Saturday at 7 p.m.
Lottery officials say when there is a huge jackpot, final day sales account for up to half of all ticket purchases.

My odds are worse than most
I would love to win the lottery! Ohh, the things I would do.
I would fix some things that need fixing, break some things that need breaking, tell a few people what they need to hear and tell a few others where to go.
I would start a business. Help out some friends. Help out some random strangers. Get to know which charities really do need my help.
I would travel to far away places and enjoy some of the local flavor I have never made the time to see.
But I never seem to remember to go buy a ticket. Which makes my odds worse than most! Maybe this time I will remember. If I do hope they don't give my ticket to someone else!!
Good luck 2 all. If you win. Pay it forward.

Who cares? You know it's a guarantee that someone in Ontario and/or Quebec will win it.
