At St. Michael's Catholic Parish, tears flowed as the priest said the names of the 8 victims who died in a series of avalanches.

Outside the church, mourners placed lit candles in a snow bank to honour the victims and their grieving families.

The other memorial service took place at the Christian Community Centre where all the victims were remembered.
