Theatre Calgary is set to begin its run of Skydive, a play that involves two performers soaring above the stage for the entire production.

The actors are suspended in midair above the stage with equipment that takes four performers to operate. "We're both just hanging on, getting them through the space, not colliding, we're trying to fin their place in the air," says Christopher Frary an operator of the equipment.

Actors Bob Frazer and James Sanders play brothers in the middle of a skydiving adventure that goes wrong. As they plummet to earth, they struggle to understand each other and their lives.

The show was conceived in large part due to Sanders. He is a quadriplegic and wanted to do a show that had nothing to do with his physicality. He and Frazer hired playwright Kevin Kerr and, together, they developed Skydive.

The play runs at the Epcor Centre for the Performing Artsuntil November 2nd.
