Traffic is so bad at a new community in the northwest that late Wednesday, the city stepped in to takeover the situation.

A police officer is now directing traffic into the community of Evanston where Simmons Valley Parkway is the only street available to access the entire community.

The move came after residents complained about the delays they were facing to get in and out of the community during rush hours. "I have to wait 15 minutes to get to the stop sign,'" says one frustrated commuter.

Residents have inundated the city with complaints.

The city has responded by saying it is working to keep up with several projects in the area. "We're dealing with construction traffic from the ring road, from the city work crews, from the developers building in the area and of course the residents. So it's heavy traffic on a road that's not designated for that much traffic," says Jim Stevenson, the alderman for the area.
