It appears a massive rock concert at McMahon stadium was not as loud, or as rowdy, as some had feared.

There were a couple of noise complaints, but authorities say the Monsters of Rock did not breach the noise limit.

McMahon Stadium Society worker, Jason Garson, spent time Sunday morning going through the surrounding neighborhoods, cleaning up anything left over from the Monsters of Rock concert.

"We did a pretty good job of keeping people's plastic cups inside when they were leaving. I thought most of our stuff would be in the parking lot around the vehicles, and that's mostly what we've found so far."

Thousands of people rocked to artists like Judas Priest and headliner Ozzy Osbourne.

There were some concerns early on about the noise, or potential over spill of concert goers into the neighborhoods.

Calgary bylaw officers monitored the sound levels throughout the day and evening, but bylaw boss, Bill Bruce, says all of the fears appear to be unfounded.

"We did get two noise complaints on the issues around they could hear the sound. We tested, sound levels running around the 57 decibel range for the most part, well under the bylaw level. So all in all, we wrapped up as a fairly successful event."

The maximum sound level could be 65 decibels, but even in the afternoon, bylaw says the sound level only reached about 60 decibels.

Sylvana Leclerc lives across University Drive from the Stadium.

"If you were out on the deck in the back you could hear, there was music there, you could hear a little bit of the crowd, but nothing very loud, it was very subdued. There was also soccer happening in the field right next to it and the soccer was actually louder."

Leclerc says McMahon is a great venue for outdoor concerts.

"One or two outdoor concerts there a year is really not a big issue and I think it's good for the culture in Calgary. You know, I think we have to remember that even if it's not the style of music we like, maybe there was a day where we did like that type of music."

There were more than 15-thousand rock fans at the concert.

Bruce says he may find a few more complaints Monday, but overall it appears Monsters of Mock was a success.
